The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It was launched in 1969, during the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi, to encourage students to engage in community service and contribute to the betterment of society.

Aims and Objectives

  • Develop a sense of social responsibility among students.
  • Encourage teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Promote active participation in community development projects.
  • Create awareness about social problems and mobilize volunteers to address them.
